Last Night's Dream

Posted by Scott Meade on February 1, 2011 at 11:22 AM Comments comments (2)

Last night I had a dream. The sky was dark, yet there was a rainbow. The moon was full and strange lights appeared behind it. A brightly lit inverted cross appeared from behind the moon and grew larger and larger as it approached Earth. It was like neon crimson. I believe that it represented the spirit of the anti-messiah.

I believe that the rainbow in the dark had nothing to do with Ronnie James Dio, but represented God's promise that He will not destroy the world by flood again. Soon the anti-messiah will appear as a "savior" and the world will love him.

Working With Sheila Myers

Posted by Scott Meade on November 25, 2010 at 4:12 PM Comments comments (3)

I've been working with Sheila Myers. She is using my Sam Johnson character in her 4th Detective Jake novel. This has been a lot of fun because we're creating a new character from an old character. In Sheila's next novel, you'll get to see Sam Johnson before he was saved. I'll let her reveal more info about her new book. You can check out her website at:

An Idea For Twisted Christians II

Posted by Scott Meade on August 4, 2010 at 9:13 AM Comments comments (0)

Twisted Christians II will be a fictional story. I hope that once it is released, everyone knows that it is only fiction. Please do not suggest that I am claiming any of my fictional stories to be true. I write fiction because it is fun to play with. You can create any type of situation. Personally, for some reason I like scary stories and have since I was a child, when I first watched Phantasm. Maybe it was before that. I do remember watching a movie called The Car, which was pretty scary to me at the time. I've been playing with the Twisted Christians II back cover and still have no idea what the front cover will look like. I may have to bring in my art team for that. Anne Rice Rejects Christianity, in the Name of Christ

Posted by Scott Meade on August 1, 2010 at 7:18 AM Comments comments (0)

I was chatting with my fiancé in Yahoo when she told me to check the News Feed in Facebook concerning Anne Rice. I looked and saw this:

Anne Rice Thank you, Annah, for posting this heartfelt response to my recent decision to quit Christianity, in the name of Christ.

Response to Anne Rice's commentabout leaving the church.

I panicked and quickly responded. I didn’t realize that she was quitting Christianity in the name of Christ. I was the 2nd person to respond. It seemed like Anne Rice replied to me as soon as I clicked the “Comment” button.

Anne, can you answer this question for me please? Have you read the Bible from cover to cover the way that you would read any other book? I've done it twice and it has completely restored my faith. If you haven't done it yet, then please do so. I started out as a Baptist, but now I'm a Messianic Jew.

Do not allow the teachings of man to sway your belief. Pray that God will guide you through His Spirit and read His Word for yourself. God's children are planted within all Christian churches and the end of this world is near. Please do not lose your faith.

God bless you, Anne,

Anne Rice

Scott, yes, I've read the bible from cover to cover, and read different books over and over again. Favorite books are 1 and 2 Samuel, Isaiah, Hebrews, Gospel of Matthew, Gospel of John, Revelation. But read them all, over and over. Thanks.

The mad rush of Anne Rice’s friends quickly filled the comments. I sat at my computer filled with giddiness because Anne Rice replied to me! All of a sudden, my small dilemma of not being able to come up with child support money and the time in jail that I will soon face meant nothing. It didn’t hit me until later that Ann quit organized religion, not loving God and Yeshua. Wait…Yeshua?

It is my prayer that Anne Rice will see the wonderful light that Yeshua has shown me through Messianic Judaism. To mingle the Orthodox teachings of Judaism with the teachings of our Messiah is the most wonderful form of enlightenment that I have ever experienced. Jesus did not come to destroy the Law. In fact, He said, “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven." ~ Matthew 5:17-20

Although there are Christians who hate the "theology" of my novel, Twisted Christians, because of its introduction to Messianic Judaism, there are many Christians and nonbelievers who still love my novel. I will say this. In my novel, a demon had repented of his sins and was saved. This is not the teachings of Judaism, neither Orthodox nor Messianic. It was something that I pondered while writing the story. Since writing TC, I have discovered that this will never happen and I will address it in my next blog.

While a huge majority of Christians exchange Christmas gifts and search for Easter eggs, it is my prayer that Anne Rice and I will spend at least one Chanukah or Pesach together enjoying the knowledge of prophecies foretold during these last days of this world.

God bless,

Live Strong Fundraiser & Smoking

Posted by Scott Meade on June 28, 2010 at 10:50 AM Comments comments (0)

Yesterday was my birthday and it was great! I was able to help raise some money to benefit the Cancer Society at the Live Strong Prostate Cancer Awareness Fundraiser. I raffled off an autographed copy of Twisted Christians for the cause. Congratz to Harry for purchasing the winning ticket! I was able to speak about my novel as well. The local television news network was there to cover the event, but I quietly stayed in the background because for once, I wasn't trying to promote Twisted Christians. Fortunately, the hype of my novel didn't begin until after the news reporter had left.

Why did I stay in the background while the media was there? Because this event had nothing to do with me or my novel. It was to benefit someone who is suffering through the effects of prostate cancer. That someone is Clarence Brown, a wonderful man with a beautiful family who cares enough to show their love and appreciation of him. I spoke with Clarence and he is a very delightful gentleman. I had never given much thought to prostate cancer or any sort of cancer before yesterday.

As I struggle with my addiction to nicotine and the continuous warnings of lung cancer that I receive from my loving fiancé, this fundraiser has actually helped to bring me to the reality of the dangers of smoking. Although prostate cancer and lung cancer are two separate issues, cancer is cancer in any form. No matter which part of the human body is affected by cancer, it is still an ongoing fight that science cannot cure with any elixer.

A couple who I'd known way back in the 80s has recently popped up into my life again. My old friend, Angela Williams, is the author of a book called Coma. The other night, she told me of her battle against cancer. According to the doctors, she is supposed to be dead. But through faith in our Lord, Yeshua (Jesus), she has been healed.

I believe that all of these recent events are related. How can I deny it? Why is it so hard for me to quit smoking? If anyone out there has successfully quit smoking, not because you wanted to, but because you may have had a similar experience to mine, then please comment on this blog. This is my dilemma. I enjoy smoking. I enjoy it with coffee. I enjoy it after meals. I enjoy it all the time. If I truly wanted to quit, it would be easier for me to at least try. But these recent events have caught my attention. How does one quit smoking when they don't really want to? There has to be a way.

Rise of the Independent Authors

Posted by Scott Meade on June 22, 2010 at 2:22 PM Comments comments (0)

Tom Carter, author of CHINA: Portrait of a People, is a rising independent author. His words give me hope in finding success through the underground networks. Here is what he has to say:

"Like the fall of the Roman Empire, the decline of traditional publishing is inevitable and it is imminent. The crumbling colonnades of American publishing houses will, in the following years, become little more than artifacts of a distant era.

This is not a projection and certainly not wishful thinking, but a corpse-cold fact substantiated by numerous statistics and empirical data (most lamentable: a 1% annual growth rate in book sales!).

With the “Big Six” publishers due to become the “Big One” within the next decade as industry giants merge out of desperation or are acquired by e-commerce companies, new business models are forcing old-school publishing to scale back on their book lists and instead focus on releasing a select few mega-bestsellers.

Yet while trade title output has seen an exponential decrease (a pathetic 288,000 books in 2009!), self-published books ascended a mind-blowing 180% from the previous year – and show little sign of letting up.

The advent of the newfangled internet has proven that while the attention span and intelligence quota of the average reader has decreased (less than a quarter of the American population reads books!!!), their desire for new voices and new genres has not.

Those conventional publishers of the old order, isolated in their lofty New York boardrooms, have refused to take heed, hence their demise, leaving the market wide-open for innovative silicon publishers.

And with this new paradigm in publishing will come new rules: the New York Times Book Review will start offering their consecrated imprimatur to independently-published works; and proving your book’s legitimacy via self-publishing will become a precursor, rather than a curse, in getting a “real” book deal.

This list, then, serves as both an elegy for the “Big Six” and as a birth announcement for nearly one-million (and counting) new POD, indie-press and e-books – the backlist of tomorrow."
